Bloodbowl Action, Match 6 Of Season 1 Of The Bears Premier League.

This is the last of the regular season matches before the playoffs commence. Here my Orc team the Waaagh Boyz face the talented coach ____Cork Master's_____ Human team the Blitzburg Bashers.

Early in the first half little Dingy the team's goblin had sneaked past the Basher's line and Numgrad the orc thrower pulled off a terrific throw which Dingy caught beautifully and quickly ran the ball to score the first touchdown of the match.

The second part of the first half was going well for the Waaagh boyz, we were winning the physical battle but as I was kicking I had chosen to risk using the squig ball which as you may know, attempts to escape from the ball holder at the end of every turn. At one point human thrower Jenkik threw a beautiful pass to Clairmont the human catcher who caught it and would have scored a swift touchdown. That is of coarse, if he had remembered to ti his shoelaces before the match!

He tripped when going for it and Numgrad quickly scooped it up. We were making slow progress up the pitch and even managed to KO the  fearsome Ogre Smorg but at the worst possible time the squig escaped and was then stolen by the alert and ready Clairmont who then capitalized with a rapid running touchdown.
Here is Clairmont's touchdown, funny enough he was yet to be painted because of his past performances but in this one match he scored a whopping 11 SPP points to become the blitzer's best player.
The last Turns of the first half were a disaster for us, Numgrad kept failing to pick up the ball despite having sure hands. Our defense was caught flat footed and thats when the speedy Clairmont penetrated our half and managed to score a running touchdown!

Then came halftime, here are some shots of ___Cork Master's___ beautiful custom built stand.
He builds all his terrain out of cork, of which he has built at least 50 full sized pieces. He truly is a cork master.
If you look carefully, you will notice orange Goblins, these are from our DND Monster Campaign!

Second half the Waaagh Boyz were kicking, so I knew that if I had any chance of making any sort of comeback I had to be making progress towards first getting the ball and then ultimately getting it to the touchdown line every turn. When The Waaagh boyz did finally get the ball back on the 5th turn it was too late as by that time there was little time to get up the pitch.
The Blitzer's defense was a tough nut to crack and we made little progress up the field.

The game ended with a well deserved win to The Blitzers. So we proceeded to the after match deliberations. How we choose MVPs in our league is each coach nominates 3 players who made an impact (earned star points) then we roll a D3 to decide out of those few. Numgrad the orc thrower was chosen as mvp for the Waaagh Boyz and on the Blitzer's team, Catcher Clairmont was the selected mvp. Unfortunately The blitzer's lost their linesman Gunter to the wrath of my beast of a troll Gramhag.
Here The stadium clean up crew is taking poor Gunter to the morgue!

I wish ____Cork Master______ and his Blitzburg Blitzers good luck, they will be playing the very skilled _General Goosey_____ and his Elven union team the Faladriel Pact in the playoff finals.

So with my first ever blood bowl season over, I now know what I can do to improve my team for next season. I think I really need to spend any cash I can spare in making sure I have 4 Black orcs and Blitzers. I found the default team layout that comes with the starter box really not that competitive or at least not to my style of play. With those black orcs I will really be able to clear some space on the pitch and with the blitzers I will have more mobility (Block is nice to have too!) around the field.

Anyway thanks for reading,
and stay tuned for the playoff final!

P.S My group has yet to make google accounts for this blog so for now I will refer to them with place holder names!
